I'm forming a new meetup group, called Tucson-Otherkin, for vampires, donors, otherkin, therians, goths and those who are curious in the Tucson, AZ area. We are a group of vampires, donors and other kindred who come together to learn more about ourselves and support one another. We don’t do LARP, VTM, fetishes, or other kinky stuff, and we are NOT a dating service.

We will organize real, face-to-face meetups and activities for those living in or around Tucson and the surrounding areas. Our first meetup is scheduled for November 20th. Members will receive more detailed information.

This meetup was created to be informative, create a community, to support each other and, of course, to have fun! We are not a cult and we are not a group that discriminates, so whether you are otherkin, a real vampire, a donor or just curious we would be honored to discuss various topics and most importantly become friends. If you want more information you are more than welcome to contact us.

Due to the sheer volume of articles published on Sanguinarius.org, it is becoming difficult to know where to start reading. Should you read them alphabetically? Should you go by section? Thought for the day:

People are uncomfortable with the thought of someone needing to drink blood, so they come up with all kinds of other possible reasons that tell them in their own mind "that person doesn't really NEED to drink blood. They just think they do, or want to [for whatever reason]." It never CAN be that the person IS a vampire, for real. It always has to be something else. Example: "They do it for power". And if it can actually be proven to some extent that they don't do it for power, then it's "they do it for SYMBOLIC power", and they'll come up with all kinds of theories and reasons why that is so; all designed to make the other person more comfortable -- or to pigeonhole the vampire so the other person feels they are more in control of the situation/other person.

A Vampire's Life? It's Really Draining
Forget 'Twilight.' These Folks Pale in Comparison to the Stereotype.

She remarked that the giggling teenagers buying popcorn in their capes were "really, really great," but the vampire herself wore jeans and a gray T-shirt, as she breaks out vamparaphernalia only for special occasions. And after the 9:15 showing of the new hit film "Twilight," the vampire went straight home with her teenage son, because the vampire is a doting mom.

The vampire is Linda Rabinowitz, also known as Selket. She's in her thirties, lives in central Virginia and radiates warm approachability. If you needed a quarter to get on the bus, she is the stranger you would ask.
